As Managing Director and founder, Francis Cook has more than 25 years
experience in the management of aged care facilities. Francis has a background initially in the Health Department whilst obtaining his B Comm.(UNSW) degree and from 1980 as a Management Consultant to the aged care industry. Since 1994 has been either State or Federal president of Aged Care Association Australia (ACAA)
contributing to industry policy development.
Christine Cook is a Director of Cook Care and holds a Diploma of Education,
Certificate IV in Continuous Quality Improvement and an Executive
Certificate in Aged Care Management. Christine also makes an industry
contribution through her membership of the ACAA (NSW) Nursing and Management
Professional Advisory Committee. Each new facility and all re-furbishment projects are personally managed by Christine with regard to building design, interior design and landscaping. Christine plays a key role in managing a professional team of architects, interior designers and landscape architects to ensure that each Cook Care facility is of the highest standard possible.
General Manger, James Saunders, joined the Cook Care Group in 2003. James
brings a broad range of experience to the group including specialist
consulting skills with the Aged Care Association of Australia (ACAA). James
has worked in aged care for 20 years and has extensive experience as a
Registered Nurse and as a Director of Nursing. His qualifications include a
Degree in Health Science and a Masters Degree in Health Administration from
the University of NSW. James is committed to the advancement of aged care
and staff development, and is a Fellow of the College of Nursing.
Corrie Ploeg joined the Cook Care Group as Executive Care Manager in 2008. Each Cook Care facility operates within a semi-autonomous environment. The Executive Care Manager serves to monitor the delivery of care and lifestyle services at each site to ensure compliance with best practice, legislation, organisational policies and procedures.
Corrie is based in Sydney and travels regularly to each facility, working closely with management and their staff to deliver quality care in the increasingly complex aged care environment. The Cook Care Group benefits from Corrie’s excellent communication and auditing skills, proven leadership, commitment to quality and her broad knowledge of all facets of contemporary aged care nursing, funding and Accreditation.
Corrie began her career as an Enrolled Nurse before training to become a Registered Nurse. Corrie has worked previously as a National Compliance Manager and is also an Aged Care Quality Assessor with the Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency.
